Site Operations Manager
In This Role, You Will:
- Direct daily plant operations and manage cross functional teams onsite to drive work processes that deliver high production quality, meet safety and production targets.
- Hire, train, and oversee both employees and resources that provide daily support to plant operations, including employees, machinery, equipment, and buildings to ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal regualtions.or all departments onsite.
- Identify, reduce, and/or eliminate production losses and high maintenance cost assets to promote plant objectives.
- Consistently adhere to and apply operational policies and procedures, process safety management (PSM) requirements, and company standards.
- Act as the main resource and point of contact to resolve complex employee related issues throughout the plants.
- Develop best practices to optimize production and operations, determine labor and staffing needed to meet production goals, develop and maintain KPI’s to effectively measure productivity through performance and financial data analysis.
- Assist with the budget preparation process, create and update operational policies and procedures to align with local, state, and federal guidelines as required.
- Establish a strong safety culture across all levels of operations, maintain both training and qualification standards.
- Lead incident investigations, management of changes (MOCs), pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs), process hazard analysis (PHAs), and corrective action closure.
- Oversee all root cause and failure analysis (RCFA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) investigations to mitigate risk for the organization.
- Comply with all environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
- Superior leadership and management skills with a proven ability to manage employees, teams, and departments with different skill sets at all levels of the organization.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations related to plant operations.
- Ability to understand and operate systems and equipment used at chemical plants; perform and analyze various system checks.
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite and Teams, and related sotware used within the chemical industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment drawings, safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines.
- Must have a strong understanding of properties, behaviors, and hazards of industrial equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Ten years of operations experience in supervisory positions that combine technical, managerial, and financial expertise within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Ability to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment, perform work in tight or confined spaces at times with occasional exposure to various chemicals.
- Ability to wear necessary personal protection equipment (PPE) like hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, and other PPE required by specific jobs.
- Standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, up to 50 lbs. at times may be required.
- Ability to tolerate stress created by interruptions, multiple tasks, and loud noises while performing duties with a high level of efficiency.
