Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanical Technician will perform routine skilled mechanical maintenance to ensure the reliability of the equipment, machinery, and parts onsite for the chemical manufacturing plant.  Install, inspect, and repair all rotating and permanent equipment, troubleshoot issues machinery, replace parts, anticipate mechanical issues and diagnose maintenance problems at the chemical plants in Baytown.  Local candidates only. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install, inspect, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on the industrial machinery, critical equipment, and mechanical operating systems within the chemical plant to avoid disruption, minimize down time, and optimize production, performance and the reliability of assets onsite.
  • Diagnose and execute necessary repair work for rotating and fixed equipment, replace parts and components as needed safely.  
  • Lubricate parts and clean components used for blasting and painting, assemble and install new equipment when required onsite. 
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance measures to avoid potential issues, down time, and malfunctions.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and company policies and procedures, identify and avoid safety hazards to mitigate risk and enhance a company culture of safety.
  • Accurately document repair time and parts usage details and information daily to complete and close out work orders as assigned in eMaint system.
  • Comply with maintenance procedures to minimize down time, accurately complete maintenance reports daily, and champion maintenance best practices to drive asset efficiency and optimization.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, champion a clean and safe work environment in and around the assets, warehouse areas, work space, and control room areas at all times. 
  • Perform root cause failure analysis and communicate findings to Lead Technicians, consistently share candid feedback about maintenance issues and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
  • Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care® requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position.
What We Require:
  • Ability to understand, operate the systems and critical equipment used onsite in chemical manufacturing plants; perform and analyze various system checks with confidence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Teams, and maintenance related software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical, electrical, equipment drawings and schematics, safety procedures, including all related federal, state, and OSHA guidelines. 
  • Ability to demonstrate safety at all times when using hand power tools commonly used in plant maintenance tasks.
  • Strong understanding of the properties, behaviors, and hazards of tools and critical equipment used in to perform maintenance activities to support chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to work independently and act with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and complete work as scheduled. 
  • Five years of tactical hands-on mechanical maintenance experience woring onsite at a chemical manufacturing plant, refinery, or in an industrial plant work environment,  preferably in 24/7 continuous inductrial manufacturing plant environment. 
  • Previous industrial and mechanical maintenance expertise required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
